Supplier Capability Planning (SCP)
The Supplier Capability Planning tool is available to help Suppliers in determining the appropriate production schedules and inventory levels that are required to support Deere demands for direct materials. It uses the Supplier's current Response Capacity and Manufacturing Critical-path Time to predict these numbers. The main input to this tool is an aggregated Forecast/Demand from across multiple Deere units. This input is updated each week.

The tool was designed for simple and straightforward use. Additionally, ingrained in the tool is a significant amount of "how to" help.

The latest update to this tool (14-Jan-2015) includes the following:
  • Add Unit of Measure field (UOM) with conversion factor entered to convert pieces to UOM for a part
  • Capacity and demand will be calculated using new UOM
  • Maintain Conversion Factors screen allows one-time entry of all UOM's for all parts for a supplier
  • Automatic update of conversion factors as user tabs, enters, or arrows down from one factor to another
  • Planning group name will no longer allow special characters
  • Planning group Conversion factor pop-up will allow conversion factors to override the pre-populated factors
  • Adding new fields Forecast Exceeds Capacity Quantity and Percentage to Graph Data
  • Adding Hours per Shift, Shifts Per Day, and Average Days per Month to Planning Scenario
  • Saved Scenarios can be changed with change in UOM while archived scenarios cannot
